Staycations! Vacationing Right Here at Home

We hear a lot about staycations these days but have you ever thought about all the good reasons for taking your vacation right here in Paradise? Well, to answer that let's look at some of the stress factors people endure when taking a vacation on the road:

1) Time constraints-you spend half your vacation time getting there and the other half getting home.
2) Expense-from gas to ferry fares, just getting to your destination can eat up a huge portion of your vacation budget.
3) Lost luggage-if you have ever had it happen, you know the stress of having your luggage arrive home before you do.
4) Long distance travel-it's hard on the back and on your car.
5) Ferry line-ups-sitting in a car in the hot sun or the pouring rain is not a fun way to holiday.
6) Emergencies at home-when you're miles away and something happens at home, well there goes that holiday feeling!

Now, let's look at some of the advantages to keeping it at home. You get to sleep in your own bed at night. Having said that, staying in one of our wonderful accommodations can make that Staycation that much more special and with all
the money you're saving, you can really afford to do it up right. Supporting the local economy is good for all of us. We keep the money at home, we keep the services we have come to love going and we keep local people employed-you just might be one of them.
There are environmental benefits including not having all those extra vehicles on the road. The pride we all have in our community by getting to know it better, allows us all to be better ambassadors for those who visit us and that is good for our tourism industry.
